Itinerary

Day 1 Lucerne
Arrival in Lucerne by train in 1st class from Swiss border or airport. Experience the German-speaking town of Lucerne, explore world-famous sights, museums and much more. Overnight in Lucerne.

Day 2 Lucerne
Explore Lucerne at leisure. For the Mt. Pilatus Golden Round trip excursion (optional): from Lucerne you board the boat to Alpnachstad and from there the steepest cogwheel train in the world takes you up to Mount Pilatus at 2132m. On the way back you take the cable car/gondola down to Kriens and further by bus, back to Lucerne. Overnight in Lucerne. (B)

Day 3 Lugano
Rail journey to Lugano in the very southern part of Switzerland. Precision and Swiss quality and on the other side, Mediterranean charm and style in gastronomy and architecture. These are simple words to describe the beauty of this land of contrast.

Day 4 Lugano
After breakfast, the day is yours to explore. Visit enchanting places such as the picturesque fishermen’s village of Gandria or Morcote or you might want to explore Swissminiatur in Melide – the open-air miniature park where you will find more than 120 models representing patrician houses, castles, cathedrals and other structures of Switzerland (Mid Mar - Late Oct 2012). Day 5 Lugano - Locarno - Lausanne
Today you take the train from Lugano to Locarno from where the Centovalli Railway takes you to Domodossola in Italy. There you board the train to Brig, Switzerland and further to Lausanne. The picturesque city of Lausanne is the second-largest city on Lake Geneva. Since 1914 it is the headquarters of the International Olympic Committee. Overnight in Lausanne. (B)

Day 6 Lausanne
Experience the French-speaking town of Lausanne. Enjoy the impressive wine area – the Lavaux region – landscape of terraced vineyards and World Heritage Site. We also suggest a visit to the Olympic Museum. Overnight in Lausanne. (B)

Day 7 Depart Lausanne
After breakfast, depart for Swiss border or airport or extend your stay in Switzerland. (B)
