Itinerary Day 1 Geneva
Arrive in Geneva by train in 1st class from the Swiss border or airport. Overnight in Geneva. Day 2 Geneva - Montreux - Zermatt
Board the steam ship RHONE for the cruise to Montreux.
First you will pass the 140 m/423 ft high fountain that symbolizes Geneva,
then delightful villages and towns on the Swiss and the French shore
and at the end you will pass Chillon Castle. Enjoy lunch in the Belle
Epoque lounge or on the first class upper deck. You disembark in Montreux
and
change
to the waiting train. In your first class rail-road car you continue
your journey to the Rhone Plain and the canton of Valais. In
Brigue you change trains to the Brigue-Viège-Zermatt (BVZ) railroad,
which is a mountain railroute and the only way to get to Zermatt at
1620 m/5213 ft. This village that has preserved its "old world" Alpine
charm is automobile-free. Overnight in Zermatt.
Day 3 Day in Zermatt (Take an optional Gornergrat Excursion)
Day at leisure. Explore the village of Zermatt, or for example book an optional excursion by cogwheel railway up to the Gornergrat. Overnight in Zermatt. Day 4 Glacier Express (Zermatt to St. Moritz)
After breakfast, travel with the world famous Glacier Express train to St. Moritz. (Optional lunch – if required, please indicate on the booking request). Overnight in St. Moritz. Day 5 Depart St. Moritz
Return to Swiss border or airport, or continue your stay in Switzerland at your own request. |
