William Tell Express on Lake Lucerne

See two of the most attractive regions of Switzerland - Lucerne and the Italian-speaking Lugano. Lucerne on Lake Lucerne is famous for its old covered wooden bridge. A variety of restaurants, lakeside promenades and shopping awaits you. Lugano is an ideal tourist and health resort during spring and autumn. Located on the shores of Lake Lugano, with various sporting and recreational facilities.
Itinerary:
Day 1 Lucerne
Travel by rail from any Swiss border or airport to Lucerne. Overnight in Lucerne with bed and breakfast.

Day 2 Lucerne
A day to explore the wonders of the Lucerne city or take the cogwheel railway to the summit of Mount Pilatus or the revolving gondola up to Mount Titlis. The vistas which greet you are unforgettable.

Day 3 Lucerne - William Tell Express - Lugano
Board the converted paddle steamer or motor vessel and enjoy a hot or cold dish in the first-class restaurant, while you watch picturesque villages and historic landmarks glide by.

At Flüelen continue in a first-class panorama car through the Reuss Valley with its deep ravines. The world-famous Gotthard line climbs from 470 to about 1100 metres to enter the 15km long Gotthard tunnel in Göschenen.

After the 10-minute tunnel passage, you’ll arrive in Canton Ticino; continue across bridges and past villages before arriving in Bellinzona. Change trains here for Lugano. Overnight in Lugano

Day 4 Depart Lugano
Travel from Lugano by rail to any Swiss border or airport.
